The impact of this (on JRuby 1.0.1 at least) is that Rails doesn't work on Windows. This is because Rails does some poking around in initializer.rb to work out where it is, as it now fails to workout that it's on Windows, the paths get screwed and nothing works. I suspect that this will be an issue for any gem that includes file manipulation, e.g. trying to install plugins.<br><br>I'm guessing that everyone running Rails on JRuby must be doing it on Linux upto now unless I'm missing something fundamental !<br><br>Keep up the good work though, as an enterprise developer I will praise the day that I can develop in RoR and release an ear file !<br><br>--AndrewAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
